Big Hero 6

When Disney bought Marvel in 2009, they were miners looking for gold in decades worth of intellectual property.

(They sort of did the same thing when they bought Lucasfilm three years later in 2012 ... but that's a story for another post)

The film about "Big Hero 6", a Marvel Universe team with X-Men connections, is the result of looking at the stuff they bought to see what they could turn into a Pixar movie without many people knowing that it was, in fact, a Marvel movie. However, the colors red and white used in the graphics promoting the film could be seen as a wink to the modern Marvel logo/colors.

Here's a cover from around the time of their first appearence in 1998. Check out Baymax. >>

Don't Trust a Computer

BBLO2 #41 > Every week, the computer system at CFAI either doesn't play the last song(s) of "Bernard Brule Les Ondes, Vol. 2" or one of them gets an early fade-out.

I've come to expect it.

This week, I expected the last track, Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music, Part 1", to get cut after the first 2 minutes or so. Instead, the whole track played and the usual post-BBLO2 dance music only began at 2:11AM.

It's great that the Lou Reed track was played but the moral of this story is that a computer-initiated fade-out will not be there if you expect it to be.

.... But it will be there if you don't want it.
